Dr. William Price, B.M.E. – University of North Alabama, M.M. and D.M.A – Louisiana State University, is Assistant Professor of Music. He teaches courses in music theory and computer technology, and serves as the secretary for the Birmingham Art Music Alliance.

As a composer, Dr. Price’s music has been performed at many regional and international events including the 2006 Bowling Green State University New Music and Art Festival, the 2006 International Clarinet Association Conference, the 2005 Region IV and VIII North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Conferences, the 2004 and 2002 NASA Biennials, the 2003 International Sonic Circuits Festival, the 2002 and 2001 SEAMUS Conferences, the XII World Saxophone Congress, and the 12th Annual Florida Electro-acoustic Music Festival.

He has received awards, honors, and commissions from numerous organizations including ASCAP, the Percussive Arts Society, the American Composers Forum, the National Association of Composers, USA, the Louisiana Music Teachers Association/MTNA, and the Southeastern Composers League.

Recent performances include those by the Contemporary Ensemble of the Conservatory of Athens, Greece, the Louisiana Sinfonietta, the Thelema Trio, the Ensemble Rosario, the Macedonian Saxophone Quartet, the U.S. Coast Guard Saxophone Quartet, the University of Kentucky Percussion Ensemble, the Ayer-Utley Trio, trumpeter Rex Richardson, flutist Iwona Glinka, and has been broadcast on radio stations throughout the United States.

Dr. Price’s works are published by Honeyrock Publications, Cimarron Music Press, Dorn Publications and Conners Publications.
